As of January 1, 2022, this transitioned into a permanent program called the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). The Atlantic Immigration Program aims to address labor shortages and promote population growth in the Atlantic region by facilitating the immigration process for skilled workers and international graduates. Here are the key details about the program for 2024:

Eligibility Requirements

1. Job Offer

The job offer must be for a full-time, non-seasonal position. – For skilled workers, the job offer must be at NOC (National Occupational Classification) skill level 0, A, B, or C. – For international graduates, job offers can be at NOC skill level 0, A, B, or C and must be made within two years of the candidate obtaining his qualification.

2. Language Proficiency :

This usually means CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) level 4 or higher.

3. Educational Requirements :

Skilled workers must have a Canadian high school diploma or equivalent foreign credential. – International graduates must have a degree, diploma, or certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution in one of the Atlantic provinces.

4. Work Experience :

Skilled workers must have at least one year of work experience relevant to the job offer. – No work experience required for international graduates.

5. Settlement Plan :

Candidates must demonstrate that they have a settlement plan in place to ensure that they and their families are well prepared to settle in the Atlantic region.

6. Approval :

The job offer must be approved by the province where the job is located. It requires approval on behalf of the candidate
